Grilled Beef Burger Bowls with Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients

Quantities are for 4 servings.

  • 1 1/2 lb Ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 each (large) Sweet potatoes, cut into fries
  • 4 cups Mixed greens
  • 1 each Red onion, sliced into rings
  • 2 each Tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 each Avocado, sliced
  • 4 each Cheddar or American cheese slices
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and the oven to 425°F.
  2. Toss the sweet potato fries with 2 tablespoons olive oil, the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  3. Form the ground beef into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Brush the onion rings with the remaining olive oil.
  5. Grill the burgers 4-5 minutes per side until they reach 160°F internally (ground beef patties should be cooked well done, not medium), adding the cheese in the last minute.
  6. Grill the onion rings 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. In bowls, layer the greens, a burger patty, grilled onions, tomato, and avocado.
  8. Mix the ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard for the sauce, and serve alongside the bowls with the sweet potato fries.
